About the Work
Skill, Excellence, Experience and Spirit go into every piece.

Crafting custom knives for almost thirty years, John selects the steel appropriate for the task expected of the blade and then applies his extensive skills to developing one-of-a-kind knives that can be mistaken for pieces of jewelry using stag, pearl and stone handles to perfectly adorn the handles. Ranging from pocket knives to the utilitarian hunting knife to the constant, traditional bowie knife, John's knives never fail to delight those who own them.

Materials used: titanium, pattern-welded damascus steel, natural stone, pearl, stag, ancient ivories, man made laminated handles, engraving, silver, gold and semi-precious gems.

Striving each time to create a shape that more successfully imitates the natural beauty of a blossom, John forms, forges and textures copper sheet, coaxing each piece to join with the others to make blooms and leaves that will try to convince you a natural flower has been dipped in molten copper. But beware, the attending thorns are every bit as threatening as those on a freshly cut long stemmed rose. With the skilled application of heat, the copper bloom takes on the blush of red that will further augment the appearance of the natural flower.

The more adventuresome or exacting customer may want to consider one of these blooms that have been enhanced with vitreous enamels. These pieces are not painted. They are enameled with finely ground glass, mixed with minerals, mostly metallic oxides, skillfully applied and then kiln fired to achieve the natural colors found in nature.

Materials used: Copper and vitreous enamel.

John implements the same meticulous skills producing this work as those found in his other creations. Born of the art deco style popularized in the early 1900's, he develops copper vases, bowls, boxes and other forms. The addition of enamels to some of the items offers imaginative colors to delight the eyes of those who have purchased them.

Materials used: copper, silver, gold and vitreous enamel.
